You can view all images in detail without having to join but once you join you can:

• Download unlimited comps free of charge
• Purchase images
• Keep up-to-date with special offers and new images

The simplest way to pay for images is by Debit/Credit card however you can choose to set up an Invoice Account if you don't want to pay by card.

This account is aimed at larger organisations and those wishing to purchase images on a more regular basis. The benefits are:

• Monthly statements and invoicing
• Create and control colleague user accounts
• Discounts on multiple image purchases

An invoice account will take a little longer to set up than the debit/credit card account though we will do our best to get you up and running as soon as possible. Until your account is verified and active you will not be able to purchase any of our images. If you require any images before your account is active please contact us directly.

You can change your account type at any time by contacting us as you may, at a later stage, find an invoice account more preferable.

Once you have joined Crocstock you will be able to purchase unrestricted images straight away.

Once your details have been verified, your account status will be updated and you will be informed via email allowing access to all our images.

Account verification is an essential process put in place to protect the rights and consent requests of vulnerable individuals who appear in our images.

We will endeavour to process all applications that require full library access as quickly as possible. Should you need to purchase a restricted image before your account is verified please contact us directly.

If you purchase an image for a single application the size selected will be available to downloading for 24hrs. If you select ‘up to 5 applications’ or ‘up to 10 applications’, after the initial download, you have the option of downloading further image sizes from your account page. The same 24hr window applies.

To ensure the best quality we recommend you download the largest image file and re-size it to suit your application.

When selecting an image to purchase you have the option of choosing the number of applications it may be used in. We have built in this option to:

- save you time, not having to go through the purchasing process several times

- save you money when using an image in multiple applications

- allow greater flexibility when using our images in your designs
 

Here is the definition from our terms and conditions:

The term ‘Application’ refers to a single form of media in which an image is used when it has been purchased. So for example, a single application refers to the use of an image in one single form of media (such as one website domain, one powerpoint presentation, one printed leaflet, one canvas print). The image can appear as many times as required in that one piece of media.

Each time an image is used in a piece of media then an application must be purchased. For example, if an image is to appear in 3 forms of media (e.g. a website domain and 2 different brochures) then three applications must be purchased.

Crocstock Images has been created by the photographers at Crocodile House Limited who have previously worked in Learning Disabilities in nursing and support worker roles and have an extensive knowledge of the Health and Social Care sectors.

The people in our images are not professional models but real people who have agreed to be photographed. To make this agreement official, in order to protect the people in the images, ourselves and people using the images, we have consent (model release) forms which have to be completed before any images appear on the website.

We also ensure that no personal information about people is included with the images or passed onto third parties.

We have a variety of forms which we use depending on the ability of the individual to understand and consent for their images to be used. These forms have been created with the help of various Health and Social Care Professionals with specific input from Speech and Language Therapists.

Many people in our images have the capacity to consent for themselves and to help them understand we use plain language and images to explain what the photos are going to be used for. We are always happy to involve advocates and/or carers to ensure that the individual is fully understanding of what they are consenting to.

If the individual does not have the capacity to consent or this is in doubt then we involve parents/carers (legal guardians) and/or Health & Social Care Professionals who know the person well and can help decide whether being involved in the photography is in the individual’s best interests.

Importantly, because circumstances change, those people in the images (or their legal guardian) can request that their images be removed from the image library at any time.
 

To ensure that our photographs offer a true representation of Health and Social Care issues we work closely with key organisations, professionals, service users, parents and carers. Combining their experience and knowledge with ours we continually update the library with relevant images.
